  • Most major companies are in some form of “transformation” effort minimally to maintain their competitiveness in an environment made volatile by technology  
  • The symbiotic relationship of tools and culture must be understood by executives to lead their transformation efforts…how old tools produced the old culture, the untapped possibilities of new tools, and cultural practices required to leverage them
  • Examples will come from experience in highly capital intensive product test (engineering, manufacturing, repair and overhaul, calibration) but are portable to other functions to increase speed and innovation while reducing cost
